The village of Fence dates back to medieval times and was a term used for the King’s hunting grounds which were used by the lords of the manor. The Royal deer were enclosed within the fence, which is how the village got it’s name. Fence is located close to Pendle Hill, with an abundance of beautiful walks in the area. The area boasts a large number of pubs and restaurants the closest which is 700 yards away, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2018 (one of only three in Lancashire). There is also a village store and post office 200 yards away. There is a local bus route that goes through the village to Clitheroe every two hours, stopping at some stunning villages on the way. Ideal for a leisurely day out without taking the car. It is our very own ‘Route 66’.

You are assured of a very warm welcome!
